Went to Ppl's Park this morning with my mum to explore the material stores they had there. and boy were there material stores! everywhere you turned there was at least one material store! bountiful rolls of cloth everywhere. it was magnificent.
and stiflingly hot. if that even is a word.:P
anyway, after a long search, i found some awesome material. =D
(something went wrong with some of my pics.. but oh well i'll just have to make do! :\)
this lovely stuff here is going to be turned into one of those boob tube dresses which is gathered at the chestal region.
=P

this red and white stuff is for jerri, mine is blue and white. :D i dont remember what the technical term for the gathering elastic bit is called, but i do know it starts with an S.
bahaha.
great seamstress i am.

this wicked japanese geisha stuff is going to be turned into a banana sling bag.. totally groooovy. =p

i finally bought material to start making my cool tulle skirt!!!(
yes i'm aware that the photo quality is shite) i'm taking supre's design and copying it. for a mere... well, lower than what they sell it at anyway!! bahaha.
even though i'd much rather just buy it. their fault for making it so damn bloody expensive.

hahaha this design is just randomly on one of the new tops i bought the other day.. tis a hoodie singlet. very casual. hahaha.
anywho. i wasn't able to find material to make this lovely skirt from Supre.
i have fallen madly in love with it.
=D

although will someone tell me where the fook to find stretch satin!!
i've never even heard of it.
here's my new hand bag..:D
only 10 buckarooneys

close up of the flower embroidery.

i've been trying to identify the colour of this bag. caris said.. metallic grey. but i'm thinking it has a hint of brown.. lol. and its definitely not bronze.. someone please enlighten me!!
=D
haha.

since audrey requested she be mentioned in this post, i had no choice but to dig up a random story to share.soooo
audz and i were immensely bored last night, so we started looking at bridesmaid dresses, you know, for if and when we meet our so called Mr Right and get married. (which won't be awhile i assure you, well for me, maybe not so much audz!:P) it's such an alien concept right now, but oh well, didn't stop me from clicking on Google to look for the desired bridesmaid dress. :D so of we went discussing designs, colour, blah blah blah all the other nit picky details. and i found this one dress which absolutely perfectly matched my desired design!! :D

even the colour is spot on... :D although audrey has informed me that the colour won't look good on her.. hahaha. but i'm still going to save the design. :P (perhaps audrey, when i do get married, your skin tone shall have changed :D) bahahaha.
another fab dress i came across was this one

sexayyy
but i'd change the colour :D
i won't be like other people, whose bridesmaids tend to make them look the most beautiful with horrific dresses. gahh what a nightmare. and i think i'd want either turquoise, teal, some kind of purple or emerald green bridesmaids :D bahahaha.
ok enough with wedding talk, it's creeping me out. gah.
actually one more thing.
:D
hahaha
dream wedding dress!!

although it comes in cartoon form.. i love the style and the flow. and it's Vera Wang.
i love vera wang designs.
ok enough wedding talk.
hopping back into reality now.
hahaha.

So, went to the Santa 2007 Art Fashion Parade with Mads tonight!
Wasn't as spectacular as I'd hope it'd be, paled in comparison to last year's but I spose they've lost many of their best fashion students to universities and the like! :D
Mads and I found it strange that we were sitting down in the audience being served hor d'ouerves ? and fancy champagne flutes by students.. :) Reminiscing the good ol' times when we used to be running around the top balcony with all the other art students involved with the fashion parade, then finally being on the catwalk. :D Something I'd like to never do it again, but mads used to love it! :D And she's going to make me make something with her so we can look like fools next year. :P
Some highlights were seeing Mads's sister Hayley on the catwalk for the 1st time! :D
She does Visual Art as well as Digital Art, and I couldn't catch her the first time she went on for the "pretty pinafores" they made, but I caught her in action when she was on the catwalk parading the skateboard designs they did! :D Bit dark .. But I didn't set it on the right setting til later when i realised there was the Party atmosphere setting on my digi cam

the Year 12s had to make tutus, and this one i found funny!
Marshmallow tutu! Well they did have to use unconventional materials, so there you go!

I do like this one, it had masks all over it!
No, I don't have a mask obsession...
This next red and white one below was gorgeous!
By far one of the best dresses the whole night!
Wellll.
I thought so anyway. There were some nice ones I just wasn't able to get photos because they moved too quick!
Like this Egyptian themed one, with these freakin' huge wings the chick wore on her arms, but it was the most beautiful thing ever.
Pretty!
Ooh lala indeed
oooooooo
That red and white one was of the theme Baroque Brides.
My favourite theme of the night! wedding dresses are my favourite kind of dress, once I had a dream to become a wedding dress designer..Now it's sort of turned into fashion photographer.. hahaha
These two were also the same theme, and I sorta liked them as well...
Although I do know Limpy doesn't like this girl in the black and white dress... hehe
OOO frilly. Love it
And that's all...
Well, it's not all but I didn't manage to get other nice pictures!
Checked out the exhibition too after, but the paintings and such were by no means better than last year's..
After the exhibition, Mads and I drove thru the nearby KFC because she was starved. Got an Ultimate Hot Rod burger meal; she took the hot rods, and i got the burger! After we finished, she felt like a HJs burger, so we drove to that general area, until she saw Baskin Robbins, so we stopped to get her some ice cream! And then when we reached home, she was unsatisfied because her Mocha was toooo strong, and she was still craving her burger. lol!
She is a dingbat that one.
Will be busy tomorrow trying to rush all my assignments due... Still have no idea what to do for journalism, and I've gotta start that good for nothing essay.
I think I do want to change courses after all. For a brief moment in my PR lecture I started to change my mind about changing, but only because she was talking about blogging, something I love. :D And my oh my I was the only one in the lecture theatre who had a blog. And when she asked what I blogged about, I was like ... Stuff?
:P
I'm so lame..
I'm sorely tempted to just do a photography course, but I know that sort of field is SO hard to break into.. Maybe the design course... Hayley told me she wanted to do Graphic Design at uni! HMMM.
Decisions, decisions.
Anyway, I have til the 16th of November. Abit of time to mull over it.

Making his catwalk debut at the Australian Fashion Week last night, he showed his formidable skill for designing, sewing and his impeccable eye for melodramatic fashion.
Some of his designs would probably not be worn by the "common woman" due to use of materials like vinyl, but hey, celebrities may catch on!
Needless to say, critics were wowed by his talent.
Saw him on Sunrise this morning, gave me a boost of inspiration, than anyone can become anything.
not that i'm looking to become a fashion designer though! hahaha.. I'd love to do Fashion Photography though! :) Tis one of my many photographic aspirations.. lol
You go, girl guy!
Check his funked designs!

Ahh, so I'm back in Perthopia after rushing from country to country! :P
The wedding was much funn, catching up with family, and seeing people I hadn't seen in ages, and were thoroughly surprised that I towered above most people in my family.. hahahaha :)
S'good to be tall. But I'm REALLY short over here.. Okay, well not that short, just very average height.. which isn't too bad either.. Arrived in S'pore on Saturday, and surprised Hamz very much when I came to deliver some chocolate delicacies all the way from Oz.. hehe.. Also shocked Charms, but I didn't see her for very long.. :(
Anyway.
The wedding day was just slightly hectic. Had to get up early in the morning to get ready for the "tea ceremony". It was a Chinese wedding, so the bride and groom had to give tea to the groom's parents and elder relatives before proceeding to the bride's house to do the same thing! :) Nonetheless, the blushing bride was gorgeous in her pretty white dress, and Jerri got to become honourary bridesmaid because it was rainy and there wasn't anyone to hold the bride's dress on the way up to the house! Everyone around them were holding video cameras or huge SLR cameras lol! Then there was me with an SLR and a tiny digi cam.. hahaha (:
Here, on the way to the lift. Pretty Siyin(cousin's wife)! :) And weird sister. hahaha
We viewed their wedding album too which cost them about $3000, but it came with EVERYTHING, including hair, makeup and outfits.. like whoaa. I so wanna aim for this industry! They had the most beautiful wedding album I've ever seen. The photos were actually printed onto the pages, and it was huge! They went to some places in Singapore, and I was unaware of how beautiful Singapore could be, even in the most random secluded places which they went to for the photoshoot. (: sighh
Pretty picture :D Bit dark though.
Forgive dodgy quality, there was a pro photographer doing their pics and I didn't wanna keep getting in his way, I wouldn't like it if people came barging in and snapping away while I was doing my job either.. And Dad was like GET IN AND TAKE IT NOW.. -_-"
So after the tea ceremony, we went home, had to go to CHURCH. Amazing, how mum finds the time to make us go, even on the busiest of days.. :
After that headed to TM to buy a shirt for my cousin, who had misplaced the one meant to go with his mandarin collar jacket! Bought 6 women's mags for MCI assignment, only cost $21, you'd never get them that cheap here! (: Also bought a little black crop jacket from Isetan to go with my random black and purple dress from K-mart..
Headed home, and tried to rest, but decided I'd better start getting ready or we'd be late. Well, we were late anyway, so it didn't really matter! :P
Did Jerri's hair, a very vague adaptation of a hairstyle seen in the movie Hairspray. She actually had one of her kiddy girl mags which had a how-to-do section for it, so i attempted to follow that with what little hair she had! :P
The final result! :)
Random photo of the back of her head in the car
Yes, lots of hairspray was involved :P
Her hair was totally as hard as rock!
She received lots of compliments at the wedding, and the only person who didn't like it was Dad, but he is a very au-naturel person... Which can be annoying.. Because he is highly anti-make up.
GRR.
Fine.. You're fault if I look like shit and it's reflected on your genes.
bahaha.
Ehh, look crap anyway!
Back to wedding stuff :D
Here's a collage of the dishes each table received. WHen I heard what a hefty amount of money they paid for this whole wedding thing I nearly fell off my chair! :O I'd
never have such a huge wedding, i bet you half the people they didn't even know because they were parent's friends.. :
Random shot of the happy couple pouring the champagne! :D
My cousin's sister, (so my other cousin!:P) nearly made me come on stage to do the toast, but I was like NOOO. Thank god. it looked highly embarrassing! :P
Siyin (wife of cousin) looked very glamorous, and I'm pretty sure she changed at least 3 times during the day! :D
Love the dress with it's colours. :DI'm pretty sure, that for most Western weddings, the bride sticks to her white dress, but man Siyin had like at least 3 dresses! They were pretty :D Doesn't beat Malay weddings though, apparently they change at least 7 times or something throughout the ceremony and celebrations! :O
But the hotel did the wedding entrance and stuff very well, very dramatic, with the dim lights, candles and roses, and of course, the ever popular dry ice smoke! :P And the swelling romantic music and all that jazz.. And my cousin, silly man, kissed his wife on the cheek when the Justice of the Peace said you may now kiss the bride. so the emcee made them do it again when they came back in their 2nd outfits! lol.. And counted to 10, very very slowly. so the moral of the story is, if you don't want to be humiliated infront of the whole crowd, just do it right the first time. hahaha..
Just to end it off, here is the cutest picture of my baby cousin Ramona laughing. This is special, because
usually she is the most painfully shy baby you will ever meet. (:

My cousin was quite drunk at the end of the night and his face was
uber red hahaha :D it was funny, i don't think i've ever seen him drunk EVER! :P it was funny, i was laughing at him
After the wedding, went home and packed for early flight the next day!
The flight was quite full, but there were some free rows, so I plonked myself into a windowside seat for a few minutes to admire the view, and took some pretty pictures :D After awhile, I think the bright sunlight made me head ache.. So i went back to my seat.
Flying high, in the sky.And....
Lastly, I can't wait for this to arrive!!!!! :D

Apparently, my Snitch earrings are waiting for
moi at the post office.
WOO!! :D
