Mao's Last Dancer and 500 Days of Summer
Mao's was soo incredibly beautiful & great, and it nearly moved me to tears in so many parts.. the lead guy dances sooo beautifully it was amazing.. and he had this childlike innocence and mannerism, but not in an immature way.. it was such a heartwarming movie, and you could really feel everything.. unc rob gave me the book for my bday so i shall be reading that these hols! :)
500 days of summer was so cute, unexpected and sweet.. totally unlike most other boy meets girl movies. and had a wicked ass soundtrack! wanna get my hands on that.. and i LOVED the lead actor in it.. hehe.. sho cuute.. :D :D

all in all, had an alright flight.. :) except for this air stewardess who was quite rude.. like her tone of voice and the way she looked at moi.. i was just like OK LADY WTF IS YOUR PROBLEM. GAH. and she was perfectly nice to everyone else!

you know what irritates me.
the salespeople who are all up in your face when you go into their shop.
like can't you just leave me to browse in peace without trying to pull out all sorts of random ugly shit and trying to tell me it would suit me. especially when they are all ugly sack-like dresses and tops which i know for sure wouldn't suit me. just because other people won't buy them, doesn't mean i will.

ok so really, i've only had this one experience. so i should scratch that and change it to salesPERSON. haha.
usually other people are nice, and just greet me nicely and politely. but this woman was just.. omg my brain was just going to explode with frustration. she was sorta kinda rude about it too.

So, yeah you're a good writer and all. you've sold god knows how many books and they've been made into movies blah blah.
but everyone has different tastes, and S.M. just happens to cater to those people!
I personally don't enjoy your books.
But I love S.M.'s.
just because you don't like her writing doesn't mean she's bad. that's YOUR opinion.
who gave you the power to tell people if they're good or bad?
I say, it all lies in your ability to tell a story.
if you told a story, captured and warmed millions of hearts and sold a gut-busting number of books (and made into record breaking films), i'd say your story has to be pretty good. i think this power is what makes a good writer.
but that's just me. some people who write stuff that seems like incredibly boring drivel to me, may be a good writer to someone else.
if S.M. weren't at least a fairly good writer, her books would never sell and her stories would never have been told.
And don't compare JKR and SM.
SM never wanted to BE a writer, whereas i'm pretty sure JKR always had.
and JKR's writing is simply phenomenal.
and they also write DIFFERENT stories.
JKR chooses adventure, magic, friendship.
and SM chose romance.
totally different categories.
so it's not fair to say that SM can't write worth a darn.
because her books have their own different spell-binding appeal. the story draws you in, and it's not only pre-teen girls and mothers who enjoy these books.
her's is a story loved by millions of people.
and that's something you can't take away.

i knew that Singapore cinemas shouldn't have shown so many bloody sneak previews of Twilight!

the result is it didn't make it to the number one weekend spot! because sneak previews aren't counted! and since EVERYONE watched it when sneaks were on, less people watched it when the actual movie came out! they may as well have freakin opened it on the 12th.. then it would've been number one! it earned like 1.27 million during sneaks or something.. much higher than the actual opening weekend.

some chinese movie beat it out for number one. but oh well, number 2 is good enough.

anyway, i can't believe the Singapore flyer stopped for so many hours yesterday!! badness..

Went into uni today, and SURPRISEEE i finished an assignment a week early!!

when i got home, I started to do some gardening, because the front yard is in a disgraceful state.
it practically screams screamed NO ONE HAS LIVED HERE FOR A MILLION GAZILLION YEARS. which is so not true, because i've been at home most of the year!
hahaha
after laboriously dragging the weeds out by hand, (with audrey's help snapping away at the tall ones with the big chomping blade thingos), I decided, it was high time to bring on the power tools! :D
lol.
audrey cut about half the front yard with the grass cutter thing, and then I did the rest. but of course, plenty more work to be done still, and lots of raking. stupid weeds and long grasses!
AND there's still the freakin backyard. GAHH
and my arms want to fall off and die. they're so sore.
and to top it all off, i'm pretty sure I got a forearm tan, and probably face tan. which isn't good, because only those two parts were showing, meaning my skin colour is ONCE AGAIN uneven.

ok, yes i should be asleep right now, i've got early class!!
but i figured since i was up, and just finished some work i'd quickly do an update. haha
well right now i'm kind of running solely on this piece of chewing gum in my mouth, it's the only thing keeping me focused. yes, i thought you'd like to know that.
uni work is starting to bog me down, i just wish i could crawl into a hole and sleep, because currently, i'm majorly sleep deprived. i'm also highly sick of my printer and looking at stupid squares for Colour. SO glad it's only a ruddy 6 week unit, I may just have killed myself.
had a test on Tuesday, which i just had to study all the WRONG crap for. stupid stupid.
i probably got one or two answers correct. don't get me wrong, i love Design, i have absolutely NO regrets that I switched courses, because it is all very interesting.
but I'm just sooo tired that i hate everything at the moment. so yes, instead of being here i should be asleep. but i guess i'll make up the lost sleep on the weekend hey. oh no but wait, I've still got to clean the house, because it's in a disastrous state at the moment. and daylight savings ended on Sunday, so it gets dark sooo early now. which could be a good or bad thing..
ok, now i'm off for real, i just had to come and rant. it's my outlet aiightt. gah.

Moe and I were lounging around at uni for awhile after purchasing mucho expensive books for design, when we decided we would go watch yet another movie!
we went back to her house first though, and watched Wild Hogs on dvd

It turned out to be a really exciting, sweet, hilarious adventure film!
Matthew Mcblabla (can't spell his name right :P) and Kate Hudson are such a good couple in their movies! :) perfect comedy timing.
Fool's Gold has alot of adventure and excitement in it, highly recommend it if you like adventure/mystery sort of movies. and it's quite funny too, so that's a bonus! :P
there were teenyboppers in the cinema though.

We were never as noisy and irritating as them.

but this time because of a dusty air con.
it has now stuffed up my sinuses. :(
me nose has been running like a tap since this morning.
i got out of bed at 6am because i couldn't breathe/sleep. lol.
had to go to church too this morning, so damn sleepy!
after that we took a reaally long taxi ride to a shopping centre, and i fell asleep in the cab.
did some more CNY shopping, for shoes this time, we were only supposed to be shopping for Jerri and mum but i managed to scab a pair, of quite expensive shoes! :P but they're totally wiiiiicked. :)
after shopping, we headed home, and I quickly headed back out again to go meet my bestest friendles. Went to bugis street.
And tested out mum's new phone's (hopefully, soon to be mine!! :P) camera. hehe.

had a sleepover with C&H yesterday. =D
Had bucketloads of funn. Went out for dinner first though, and then a shopping spree of sorts at the frigging supermarket. =D we borrowed 3 VCDs from Videoezy, all of which were pretty nonsensical. i told y'all we should've got better ones even if i had already watched them!! :P Pigged out on root beer floats and assorted snacks, whilst taking a gazillion pictures, most of which feature me in unflattering pyjamas and facial expressions :P so, yeah none of them will be featuring on this blog =p
but we had loads of fun. :)
ordered maccas brekkie this morning too =) takes awhile to come, but it was all good =D
was falling asleep in church this evening though, how embarrassing. hahha.
had dinner at Pastamania with Ate and Jerri, had meatball linguine, which was alright.
jerri's been missing mum and dad heaps, but she also REALLY gets on my nerve so i have no heart to comfort her sometimes. which sucks because then i'll get screwed big time. BIIIG TIIME.

anyways, i've been making loads of jewellery to past the time away, and today we went bead shopping (yet again.) but i've decided to update with some photos today! :)
i was awoken after a dreamless sleep this morning (well,.. sunday morning) and had to struggle to get out of bed.. usually i just get to sleep til whenever so it was odd being dragged out of bed today. :P anyway, we had to go to church, and i was so tired i could barely stand up without wobbling. after church we headed to my aunt's place for lunch. pretty nice lunch although i didn't eat that much, so i got really hungry whilst we were walking around the bead shops. :P
(actually i'm also really hungry right now..) bought loads of charms and beads and stuff from the shops, burnt a nice hole in mum's wallet. haha. :)
we went home after that, without the rents, and i commenced the ritual arrangement of the new things into our plastic containers and new boxes. :D then continued making more jewellery whilst watching the last 3 episodes of Heroes season 1.. thank the lord for this weekend's Heroes marathon :D it was my main source of entertainment. Went into the city today with Mum after an earlier than usual rise. :P My eyes were still tired and puffy.lol.
While she went to the dentist, I headed straight for Valleygirl, where I swear I spent at least 1 to 1.5 hours searching for presents. =P Of course I emerged successful, but the salesgirls were starting to look mildly suspicious after awhile! =P
And I even managed to get meself something =D I loves it muchly.

Anyways, after purchasing stuff at VGirl, I headed to Supre to check if the price of that stupid tulle skirt i love so much has been lowered. and guess what. NO. It has not. The freakin thing has been there since Feb this year, you'd think it'd be in clearance right now!!! :( ahh. i wish i could have it.. It looks good worn as a high waist skirt.. but when worn normally at the hip region, i look like an oversized try hard fairy! :P All i need is wings... haha. and some fairy dust.
but i lovessss it. both the black and white versions. not so fond of the grey.
Anyway. i had the intention of purchasing more awesome supre hangers, because they're ever so useful! Then I forgot.. I bought a long black singlet, and also purple nail polish and vanilla flavoured clear lipgloss! lol.

430th post! lol. dang that's alot of posts. but i spose i've had this blog since year 10..
but i haven't been posting every single day.
how so very lol.
been cleaning the bathroom very very thoroughly, my sister and i have.
at least 2 hours breathing in the chemicals, so now my eyes burn and my head throbs. and basically i shouldn't even be awake now but i've yet to digest dinner. which was less healthy than i'd have liked. :P mum's been tired lately, so we've been having fast food. however i haven't had a beef burger from anywhere for a couple of years now, so i just eat chicken at whatever fast food place i eat at! :P
i attempted to take a nap this afternoon, as i had a slight headache. however it was only aggravated by the chemicals later. i fell asleep listening to hide and seek by imogen heap. there's something soothing about her strange electronic voice hahaha. then i awoke because my stupid sister was changing the songs on my ipod as i slept and changing the volume too. GRRR. Then she wouldn't piss off so i just got up and out of bed.
Mum was talking about getting herself and ipod =D but i insisted she have my dodgy one, as she could plug it in with the car charger and FM transmitter in the car, whereas if i was on a bus i wouldn't have a charger. =D so if she still wants an ipod, hopefully she'll buy me one of those new-ish cute square ones. :) hehe. and my sister and i were also thinking about going halves for a Wii =D it's just so... awesome. :P except for the fact that we wouldn't know how to split it seeing as we're going to be in two different countries next year. however, i seem to have her convinced that if we buy one from Australia, the electric voltage in Singapore is different, and therefore the Wii will be useless over there. hehehe.
